Biography
The Center for Family Health Initiative (CFHI) is a value-adding public charity committed to Blacks/African Americans, minorities, and vulnerable populations\' family well-being. CFHI provides comprehensive culturally sensitive and minority-tailored information, advocacy, awareness, and community-based services to address felt family health needs, social drivers of health, and equity. We do this because we believe in the FAMILY: We believe that; • Family is Everything • Healthy families result in healthier societies • To change the world, change the family. We work to support the social, mental, physical, economic, psychological, and nutritional well-being of Blacks/African Americans, minorities, and vulnerable populations in Southern California. Our programs protect, promote, and restore family health through community-driven and people-first research, education, advocacy, and support services.
Experience
• Assessment: We identify the felt needs and best strategies for resolving them. • Awareness: We inform, educate, and empower individuals with relevant and vital information. • Advocacy: We improve practices, change policies, and support laws that enhance access, equity, and social justice. • Access: We improve family health and well-being through o Couple and Parenting Counseling & Referrals o Genetics, Family Planning & Contraceptive Counseling & Referrals o Nutritional & Breastfeeding Counseling, Referrals, and Support Services. o Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention. o Support for enrolment to Medi-Cal and other healthcare services
